Kayla was a vibrant, fun and outgoing person. She had such a beautiful soul. When I had the honor of being her friend, she was always happy, laughing and sharing her light. I regret not being able to hold onto our close friendship longer and the amount of best friends she has is a reflection of the love she poured into others. I am praying for her family and her beautiful daughter. You all have my deepest sympathies. I know for certain God has gained a beautiful angel. Heaven is privileged to have her now.

I was extremely saddened when I heard the news and it’s weighing heavy on my heart, we were only friends in middle school, when I first moved to Georgia you were my first friend. Such a kind sweet heart. You always seen the best in people. High school came and we stopped hanging out, but I’ll forever cherish the small memories, praying for your beautiful baby girl and strength to your family.

- Harmony Pennington , Myrtle beach, SC

I went to elementary through high school with Kayla, and she was always such a rush of joy to be around; she never seemed upset, no matter what life threw at her. Although we weren’t extremely close, she was a bright light in the classes I did have with her. The last class I had with her—our senior year anatomy class— we would often tease each other, and I would start the morning by gossiping with her before we both adjourned to our seats at separate tables. Her loved ones are in my prayers! ✨

Family, I am sorry to hear of the passing of Kayla, I have had the joy of watching her grow from a young girl into a beautiful young lady. I met her years ago in my career as her School Resource Officer when she started middle school and through out high school years. She found a special place in my heart. Ms. Marrikaye Orick the school counselor and I spent many days on the phone with her when she was in the hospital over the years as well as home visits and hospital visits. She loved life and reminded us when she came back to school that she wanted to cheer and participate in everything as long as she could. I will say she kept us grounded and taught us not to take things for granted and to enjoy every day. She always had dreams. As she grew up she began to fulfill those dreams. Dreams of going to high school, meeting the man of her dreams. I will never for get her sweet smile, energy, and memories we had shared. I was blessed to know her and share time together. I pray for the family to find faith and peace at this difficult time. Kayla, you will be missed. Until we meet again my sweet girl... Love, Ofc.LeLoup/Sgt.Sessoms
