Mrs. Nora Jane McCoy age 96 of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, formerly of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday December 25, 2023 at Blue Ridge Asssisted Living. Her passing followed an extended illness.

Mrs. McCoy was born on March 21, 1927 in Pikeville, KY., the daughter of the late William Wells and the late Gertrude Woodruff Wells. Jane was very active in her church and Sunday School and was one of the founding members of Wilmington Island Methodist Church. She had a great sense of humor. Gardening was her favorite hobby. Running a close second was hand painting china and furniture for doll houses. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Richard Scott McCoy II in 1998, her brother, Bill Wells and three sisters, Gertrude Wells, Mary Wells and Elsie Sydenstricker. Surviving Mrs. McCoy are one son, Richard Scott McCoy III of Mineral Bluff, GA., her daughter, Debbie Sue Wright and Evans Wright her son-in-law. Debbie and Evans Wright are of Savannah, GA. One grandson, Shane Wright, his wife, Karen and two great grandchildren, Nolan and Hayes Wright, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at Wilmington Island Methodist Church on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will follow in the Wilmington Island Methodist Church Memorial Garden where she will rest with her husband, Richard.
