Celebrating the life of
Helen Jean Rhody
April 26, 1951 - December 27, 2023
Helen Jean Rhody, 72, died on Wednesday December 27, 2023. Jean was born in Greenville Alabama, the second of four daughters of James and Helen Rhody. She was educated in Catholic and public schools and received her BS and MA in speech therapy from Armstrong State University. She retired from Ft. Stewart where she worked as a speech therapist in their elementary schools, in 2014. Jean was a member of St. Francis Cabrini at Catholic Church.
Jean leaves behind her sisters, Mary Aplin and Kathy Spradley; her nieces, Stephanie Bearden and Rachel Domzal. She was predeceased by sister Judy Rhody.
A visitation will be held at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel on January 1, 2024 from 4:00 - 6:00 with the rosary at 5:30. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at St. Francis Cabrini with a private burial in Macon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Relief Services, o line or at PO Box 5200, Harlan, IA 51593.
MARY so sorry about your sister - you were a very good sister to her and you took good care of her. Will keep you and your family in my prayers.
