Mr. & Mrs. Purvis, I am so sorry to hear about Theresa. She always had a beautiful smile on her face and could always make everyone laugh at her goofy ways. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of being in her life! My heart goes out to you and your family in your time of mourning and y'all are in my prayers. Marie & Carrie, When you lose a brother or sister, a piece of your heart goes to heaven with them. There will always be a void in your life while you're on your life's journeys wanting to share it with him/her. I know that she will be watching every step of the way, because I know that Joe is. There will be days that you will say "That's Theresa letting me know that she is watching", and those days will be the ones filled with the wonderful memories of her. I am so sorry for y'all's loss. Theresa Regina Purvis, 32, affectionately known as “T,” was called home by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 2.  She was born in Savannah, Georgia on October 10, 1986 to Gary and Eleanor Patton Purvis.

Theresa attended Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic School from kindergarten through eighth grade. She excelled in sports and academics there and at Savannah Christian Preparatory High School, where she graduated in 2005. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business and was a member of Pi Sigma Epsilon professional fraternity. She went on to earn her Master of Business Administration from Georgia Southern University. Theresa also recently earned her Bachelor of Science in Radiological Sciences from Armstrong State University and was a member of Lambda Nu National Radiologic and Imaging Sciences Honor Society.

Theresa was a loving and compassionate daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She loved so many and was loved by so many more.  Theresa had an adventurous spirit and a generous heart. Her beautiful smile and outgoing personality lit up a room.  She had an energy that people remembered from just a single encounter.  Theresa loved the ocean and her four-legged child, Nahla. During the summer, Theresa was on the beach, in a boat, or on a paddle board.

Most importantly, Theresa had a deep love for her family and cherished the time they spent together telling jokes, playing games, and enjoying family dinners. The relationship she shared with her sisters was like no other.  They had a bond that could not be broken. Theresa was Marie and Carrie’s baby sister. Together, they enjoyed concerts, especially Dave Matthews Band, traveling in search of good restaurants and shopping, and seeing what shenanigans awaited them.

Theresa had a deep love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She attended the Downtown Campus of Compassion Christian Church.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Henry and Hilda Patton; her paternal grandmother, Doris Purvis; and her aunt, Deb Hightower. In addition to her parents, Theresa is survived by her sisters, Marie Purvis Hartshorn and Carrie Muriel Purvis; her niece, Marin Campbell Hartshorn; her nephew, Aidric Troy Hartshorn; and her grandfather, Ardie Purvis.  Along with her immediate family, she leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and a large group of loving and devoted friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel, 4605 Highway 80 East, Savannah, Georgia. Rosary service will start at 6:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 8 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Savannah.

Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Lower Black Creek Church Cemetery, 1095 Shumantown Road, Ellabell, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Compassion Christian Downtown Renovation at Compassion Christian Church, 55 Al Henderson Blvd, Savannah, Georgia 31419.

I am so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful daughter you have raised. Seems like yesterday we were at Nativity. Whenever you talked about your daughters I saw so much love in your eyes. Prayers for your family may the memories y'all share last a lifetime with her by your side.
