Lang, so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful lady she was. I wish you peace in this time of sadness but please try and find comfort in that you were fortunate enough to have her in your life for so many years. I wish you and your family well. Hold on to the memories. I'm sure they are wonderful!

Angela Thomas Upchurch, Tega Cay, SC

So sorry to hear about your mother's recent passing. Although she would tell you that she has been dying for years, it still seems so odd that it really did happen. She was such a fireball and I know she will be missed. Please know we are thinking of you and send sympathy, for you, and to her because I also know she would want some too!

Peggy Byck, Savannah, GA

I’m deeply sorry for the loss of your dear love one . May the family take heart in the Loving Promise of John 11:25 and Acts 24:15.

Sorry to hear of Susan’s passing. I’ve known Susan for about 40 years and will miss all the lively conversations we had. She was a true original and had a great sense of humor. Her family meant the world to her. I send my thoughts and prayers to her beloved daughters Lang, Gale, and Robin, and all of Susan’s family.

Tibby Llewellyn, Savannah,GA,

Robin, Casey, and Austin I want you to know that I love you all very much and today my heart is breaking for your loss. I know your mom/grandma will be missed by all of you but please try to find comfort in your hearts in the days ahead that although she is not with you now that she will live on in your heart, your thoughts, and your wonderful memories of all the times you shared. Your Mother/Grandmother loved you all so very much and each one of the pictures you posted on facebook is a beautiful memory of the times you shared together because those are photographs of cherished happy memories. I love your mom/grandma and I personally know what a special person she is as I am going to miss her too. This earth lost a beautiful, funny and witty person but you all gained an angel in heaven to watch over you. Love, Tracy

Robin, my prayers and warmest sympathies go out to you and all your family during this time. I felt an instant bond with your mother the first time I met her. It was always a pleasure to be around such an uplifting spirit such as hers. I will forever be proud to have known her and so humbled by her fondness of me.

Susan C. Owen passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Memorial Hospital. She was surrounded by family and passed peacefully.

Susan was born in Savannah Georgia July 9, 1933. Her parents were Grace and Frank Collins, and raised from an early age by her stepfather George Mercer Lang (“Pepe”).

She was a graduate of Pape School, and subsequently attended junior college in North Carolina.

She worked for Savannah Bank & Trust and Ocean Chemicals before retiring. Once she retired, she lived her life being “the greatest grandma in the world”!

She is survived by her three daughters, Lang Windsor, Gale Coolidge, and Robin Anderson. Susan had four grandchildren, Casey Anderson-Krinsky, Austin Anderson-Conaway, Skyler Coolidge, and Grace Windsor-Jackson. She recently became a great-grandmother to River Krinsky. Also surviving are her sons-in-law, Jim Windsor, Charles Coolidge, and former son-in-law Ralph Anderson.

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held May 31, 2018 at 6 o’clock pm on the North Beach (center pier) on Tybee Island.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made in her name to the local Humane Society- as animals were one of her biggest passions in life followed by her love for music.
