Richard Thomas Gammon, 84, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017.  He was born in Keokuk, Iowa.  Mr. Gammon received a bachelor’s degree from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.  During his career, he worked for the family firm, Cameron-Joyce Construction Company and Kast Metals in Keokuk, Iowa and retired from Boeing in Long Beach, California after thirteen years.  He was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, a longtime Rotarian and passionate about sailing and travel.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Patricia Wyers Gammon of Savannah; children, Carla Gammon (Cesidio Barberis) of Falls Church, VA; Christina Davis (Douglas) of Savannah; Stephen H. Gammon (Rebecca) of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, John and Amelia Barberis; Matthew, Michael and Claire Davis; Cole and Max Gammon and Alec Breaud.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 1, 2017 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 7020 Concord Road, Wilmington Island, Savannah, GA 31410.

Interment will be private.

Remembrances may be made to St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 7020 Concord Rd., Savannah, GA 31410 or the American Diabetes Association, 5105 Paulsen St., Savannah, GA 31405.
