I am sorry for your loss. Death is painful to all of us. However God's word the Bible always offers encouragement. A scripture I find comforting is Isaiah 25:8. There Jehovah promises to do away with death and all things that bring us pain. That will be very satisfying! I hope this thought has been comforting to you. May positive thoughts fill you hearts and minds as you endure this difficult time.

Louis E. Cox of Savannah and Uvalda passed away, September 3, 2017, after a long illness.  Louis was born in 1931 in Cuthbert, Georgia to the late Thelma Bass Cox and James Cox. He is preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Randall Cox, brother, Flournoy Cox, grandchildren Lauren Brown and Paul Bryan and his beloved animal companions, Heidi and George.

Prior to beginning his career, he served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.  Louis retired from the State of Georgia as a Project Engineer with the Highway Department.  He was an avid women’s golf and racing fan, loved to garden and never met a stranger he couldn’t tell a story to.

Louis leaves behind three daughters, Sunni (Barry) Brown, Mickey (Lynn) Boyles and Randi (Steven) Bryan.  Grandchildren, Brandon (Ellen) Brown, Jason (Mandy) Boyles, Jeffrey (Christy) Boyles, and Aaron Bryan; in addition to, nine great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

The family expresses their sincere gratitude for all of the caring and compassionate care givers that came into his life during his illness.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choosing.
