Islands Library of Live Oak Public Libraries sends condolences on the passing of such a loyal library supporter. Our thoughts are with the family.

Islands Library, Savannah, GA

I am very sad to hear of Mack's passing. He was a long time friend of my family from way back when my grand parents and father lived on 51st street. Daddy shared fond memories of going down to the island with Mack and his family and helping to clean up the lot before the house was built. He also remembered jumping of the dock and floating down the river to the Savannah Hotel and going swimming. Daddy passed away in February of this year and Mack sent a very kind note and remembrance. sincerely, John Ashley , III 14806 Coffee Bluff Rd.

John Ashley, III, Savannah, GA

Kelly, ,

I am sorry for your loss. Death is painful to all of us. However God's word the Bible always offers encouragement. A scripture I find comforting is Isaiah 25:8. There Jehovah promises to do away with death and all things that bring us pain. That will be very satisfying! I hope this thought has been comforting to you. May positive thoughts fill you hearts and minds as you endure this difficult time.

R.G., ,

May the Lord welcome this faithful servant to an eternal home. I grew up in the Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church and sang in the Choir with Mac. He always followed my career and encouraged me to read and cherish history, especially when I was in Florida serving a church there he shared my interest in the early days of Lake Okeechobee and the hurricane that devestated that area. He was always a fountain of knowledge and a strong supporter of his church and others.

Rev. David W. Turner, Barnwell, SC

With most sincere condolences to all who loved Mack. As a distant cousin, I grew up hearing my folks talk about him. I feel very lucky that I was able to spend a short time with him this summer.

Givens, Pooler,

What a wonderful gentleman. I enjoyed his friendship for many years and will miss him. The fish in his favorite fishing holes will now have a chance to not be caught. My condolences to the family.
