Helen Broderick Ferraro, 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. Helen was born in Savannah, GA on February 28, 1934. She attended Blessed Sacrament School and then went on to graduate from St. Vincent’s Academy in the class of 1952. Helen married her high school sweetheart, Vincent Ferraro, on June 18, 1955 and the couple was blessed with 62 wonderful years together. Helen was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and a devoted member of the Catholic church.

Throughout her lifetime, Helen was passionate about horseback-riding, water skiing, fishing, spending time with family, raising her children, and caring for her grandchildren. Helen coached middle school girls’ basketball at Blessed Sacrament School for six championship years. She enjoyed telling stories of those days and the memories of her teams held a special place in her heart. Her grandchildren will lovingly remember her as “Ninna”. Helen’s passion for life and fun will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Helen is survived by her husband of 62 years, Vincent John Ferraro, Jr. Together they had 4 children; Terry Schwartz (Bobby), Vincent Ferraro, III (Rose Marie), David Ferraro (DeAnne), and Joey Ferraro (Traci). She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Anna (Jonathan Salter), Katie, Gabriella and Reid; a sister, Betty Lentz (Harry); and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nellie and Edward F. Broderick, Jr. and her brother, Campos Broderick. Pallbearers include Michael Ferraro, Timothy Lentz, Patrick Lentz, Paul Lentz, Michael Roush, Jr., and Jonathan Salter.
