Dr. Wynn was the best surgeon I have ever had the pleasure to work with. When my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer, he gave her 5 more years of life with his special skill. He was always kind and professional. A true gentleman. I am so sorry for your loss. It is a loss to our community as well.

Diane Youmans, Savannah, GA

My deepest sympathy to Gail and the rest of the Wynns. I met Robert in 1968 as we began our residency under Dr. Cohn together. We were close for two years until I left to do research and oncology surgery in Buffalo. We again worked together the last six months of his general surgery residency. He was distinguished by his work ethic and compassion. We were reunited two decades later when I became the first academic Chairman at Mercer. Rob was a tremendous asset to the new school as well as a leader in surgery in Savannah and Georgia. The most significant comment overheard at the Georgia Surgical, "Never heard anyone say anything bad about him." He was always careful to make sure that everyone was aware of the fact each of his achievements was only possible because of the love and support of his beloved Gail to whom he gave great credit for their wonderful children. He will not soon be forgotten

Our hearts go out to the Wynn family. Dr Wynn was an excellent doctor and a wonderful person. He usually had a smile on his face and took the time to say hello. I especially remember when my wife was admitted to St Joseph's with septic shock. She was not stable enough for surgery until the sepsis was under control. Dr Wynn stopped by the ICU waiting room daily to check on me. Over several days her condition improved and Alex was able to surgically repair the cause of the problem. Even after she transferred to a private room Dr Rob would stop by on a regular basis to visit. He impacted the lives of many respiratory therapy students (as did Gail) and graduates. He will not be forgotten.
