Celebrating the life of

Jeffrey L. Smith

Passed away on October 10, 2021

Jeffrey L. Smith

Jeffrey Louis Smith, 70, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Memorial University Medical Center.  He was born March 31, 1951 in Trenton, NJ to Albert Smith, Jr. and Geraldine Smith.  Soon after his birth, he and his family moved to Savannah where he lived the rest of his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Timothy and Albert Smith, brothers-in-law, James Strickland, Glenn Braddy, and Mike Russell.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Suzanne Strickland Smith, sons, Jeffrey “Luke” (Katherine) Smith and Benjamin Louis Smith, grandchildren, Kinsley, Luke, Aislin, Ryland, and Lillian.  Also surviving are his siblings, Suzanne Braddy, Michele Davis (Robbie), Therese Russell, and multiple loved and adored nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.

He was a devout Christian all his life with a deeply religious upbringing.  He graduated from H.V. Jenkins High School, c/o 1969 and attended South Georgia College.  He served in Korea with the U.S. Army.  While serving, he was a dental assistant, an armed forces radio D.J.  and in a band that played in the USO Club.  Upon returning from military service, and for most of his life he owned J.S. Dental Ceramics.  At the time of his passing, he was employed for many years with Classic Craft.

Jeffrey’s #1 love, after his family, was being a D.J.  Music set his soul on fire, putting a grin on his face from ear to ear and sent his head bobbing.  He loved the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldawgs.

A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.  The family will have a time of visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Burial will be in Beaufort National Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

I still can't believe it, but Hitman has gone Home to be with our Father. It occurs to me that he made a lifelong career of making "impressions" but the greatest, most lasting impression he made, was the one he imprinted onto the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Jeff was truly one of a kind...the truly AWESOME kind...Godly, talented, humble, forgiving, generous, caring, and fun. Just a GREAT spirit. We should all be more like Jeff! I have all of you securely in my thoughts and prayers. Jesus' peace and much love~Kathy Mac
