Celebrating the life of

Mark Adam LeMay

April 09, 1964 - May 30, 2019

Mark Adam LeMay

Our hearts are heavy laden this day, and with you, our dear friends and family, I share the following...

Mark Adam LeMay, aged 55, Savannah native and lifelong resident, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours on May 30, 2019.

Mark is survived by a brother, Roger A. LeMay; a sister, Denise M. LeMay; his eldest nephew, Joseph A. Jones; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederic W. LeMay and Dorothy C. LeMay; a sister, Louise P. LeMay; two brothers, George J. LeMay and Norman P. LeMay; and his beloved canine companion, Abbey.

Mark was a faithful communicant of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Mark was a long time Special Olympian having won four gold, two silver and one bronze (medals) as a golfer in the Georgia State Games. Mark was also a bowler with the AMBUCS Exceptional Bowlers League until his disability with Alzheimer's Disease rendered him incapable of further participation. He was much loved by the Down Syndrome community in which he was active for a large part of his life.

Mark was a lifelong wrestling fan and had a lifetime pass to the fights issued by former promoter, Aaron K. Newman prior to his death. Also, some of Mark's favorite people in the world were firefighters and police officers. On St. Patrick's Day 2016 Mark sported a custom-made sash covered with firefighter patches as he rode his Amtryke in the parade in honor and memory of all firefighters.

Mark was a delightful person who met no strangers and he loved everyone.
