Celebrating the life of

Ann Donaldson

February 03, 1944 - August 27, 2023

Ann Donaldson

Patricia “Ann” Gill Donaldson, 79, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2023, at Memorial Hospital after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Ann was born in Savannah on February 3, 1944, to William H. and Patsy B. Gill.  She was a devoted and loving only child throughout her life.  Ann graduated from Savannah High School in 1961, the same year she married her husband of 55 years, R.B. “Don” Donaldson, Jr.  Don introduced her to college football, which would become a highlight of her life.  She loved the Georgia Bulldogs and hosted many game-watching parties over the years.

Ann was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist and the Sweet Spirit Sunday School class.  She will be remembered for tirelessly and selflessly giving her time and love to her many friends and family, including her children and grandchildren, to whom she was so devoted.  Ann’s true passion in life was her family and friends.  She danced throughout her life and spent many happy evenings line dancing with friends in her later years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her father, and her cousin (her “sister”), Louise Lupica.

She is survived by her mother, Patsy Gill; children Cindy Donaldson Phillips (Chris) and Jeffrey “Jeff” Craig Donaldson (Shari); grandchildren Sarah Phillips, Elizabeth Broullire (Matt), Will Phillips, Connor Donaldson, Andrew Donaldson, and Katie Donaldson; great-grandchildren Charlie and Claire Broullire; brother-in-law Glenn Donaldson (Shirley); several nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, David Crenshaw.

Visitation will be held at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors on 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive from 5:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, August 31st.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 1st, at 11:00 a.m. at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel, followed by interment at Bonaventure Cemetery.
