Dear Manuel, Erin, Nancy and David, Anne & I were so shocked & saddened to hear of Rick’s passing. He and I had just spoken recently about his move to Tybee and how much he was enjoying living there. As ya’ll know, we made many memories together after becoming good friends at BC. I will always hold him in a special place in my heart. May God have mercy on his soul and give him eternal rest. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

- Kevin Shea, Augusta, GA

Rick was a good person. I loved him dearly, and will miss him forever. He will be missed by many. The world is not the same without him. I trust he is in a better place. My deepest condolences to his family. The fond golden memories of Rick on 49th Street and beyond will live on in our hearts.

- John Miller, Savannah, GA

So long my good friend and brother. Just as in the poem by Van Dyke you have crossed over the horizon. I’m sure yours was a pirate ship though. To the McGinn family I offer my condolences and thanks for always treating me as one of your own. Especially on Christmas Eve when Rick and I took turns gifting each other that ridiculous present. So, to Rick smooth sailing Pirate. And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone," there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"

- Donnie Bell, Tybee Island, Georgia

We were so sorry to hear about Rick. May he rest in peace.

- James and Sally Chandler, Tybee Island, GA

I met Rick through my son while they worked together at Ace Hardware in East Dublin. Each time that I would go in, Rick and I would talk BBQ plans for that weekend or any other mundane topic that may come up. He was a pleasure to talk to each time. My son also spoke very highly of Rick while they were coworkers. My condolences to the entire family.

Please accept my condolences. Rick was a special person that is dearly missed. He would sacrifice for those around him and brought smiles and love to many of his friends through the ministry of a garden. He was a friend, a co-worker and a political sparring partner. I love you brother, may you rest in peace. Praying for each of you.

I'm so sad to hear about Rick. I'm grateful that he reached out to me in the last few years and that we got to speak on the phone a few times this last winter. It definitely felt like some healing for both of us. I'm glad that I was a part of your family so many years ago. I hope you all are doing well.
