Mary Walker Whitcomb
January 11, 1951 - October 26, 2025
Mary Walker “Bebe” Whitcomb, 74, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Candler Hospital. She was born January 11, 1951, in Savannah to the late George Grey Walker, Sr. and Irene Stewart Walker. Bebe, as she was known to her family and friends was a member of Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church. She worked as the office manager for P&L Transportation, and later for Diamond Crystal Brands, in accounting and in the Human Resources Department.
She loved to cook, bake, and was an avid reader.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, John C. Whitcomb of Savannah, two sons, Kenneth “Marty” Whitcomb (Michelle) of Savannah, and Jonathan Whitcomb of Kentucky. Also surviving are two grandsons, Christopher Whitcomb (Gabby) of Tampa, Florida, and Tripp Whitcomb (Jasmyn) of Atlanta, three great-grandchildren, Rowan, Canaan, and Holden, all of Tampa, Florida, her brother, John Walker (Marti) of Screven County, GA, and her sister, Katie Walker of Pooler, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Andy Meeker officiating. Inurnment will be in the church memorial garden. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

as matriarch of the stewart family, i just want to acknowledge bebe's family members and let you know you are in our thoughts and prayers. most of us have experienced the loss of a close family member and have gone through this grief process. i experienced a fall sunday and am not able to attend the funeral, but i will certainly be in prayer for the family. i am 86 years old and don't recover as soon as i used to in days gone by. sending my love to y'all. cousin bettilu.
