Celebrating the life of

Thomas Fass

Passed away on January 13, 2024

Thomas Fass

Tom was born in Queens, New York in 1940.  After high school, he joined the armed forces, where he proudly served in the Navy Reserve and Marine Corps. He married the love of his life, Lynn, while serving in the Corps and they established a family with their three children - Terry, Tom, and Diana.  Tom’s life revolved around aircraft and flying.  He leveraged his aircraft maintenance skills learned in the Marine Corps and began a career with Grumman Aircraft on Long Island, NY.  After several tours on aircraft carriers as a tech rep for Grumman, he moved to Virginia and transitioned to the Gulfstream corporate aircraft program and spent the next thirty years in field service for Gulfstream, retiring as the Director of Field Services out of Savannah, GA.  He was also an accomplished pilot and certified to fly a multitude of aircraft including the Gulfstream G-V.  In fact, after retirement, he moved back to Virginia and worked as a pilot flying for PJM around the world before settling back in Savannah.

Tom lived a full life, loved by family and friends.  He will be missed.

Tom is survived by his wife, three children, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.  The family would like to thank Hospice Savannah for their excellent and compassionate care.  Remembrances can be made to Hospice Savannah or the charity of your choice.

Tom was instrumental in starting my (deceased now ) husband Larry Turner’s career in Field Service overseas…which lasted many years with Gulfstream. Tom was a lovely man and I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

- Bella Turner, Westborough, Mass.

I am truly sadden by the lost of Tom. My condolences to your entire family. I worked closely with Tom for many years, he was a true aviation professional. Gulfstream and business aviation are better because of Tom’s leadership.
