Celebrating the life of

Christine Fernandez

September 10, 1947 - November 20, 2023

Christine Fernandez

Christine Fernandez was born on September 10, 1947 in England, and passed away peacefully at home with her family on November 20, 2023 in Savannah, GA.

Christine was a woman of extraordinary kindness and love. A devoted mother, a supportive wife, and a loving sister, she embodied patience and  exemplified compassion. Her selflessness and putting family before herself, defined her character. Christine found solace in gardening and cherished moments spent with her loved ones. Her unwavering faith in God kept her strong and unshaken during her eight year battle with cancer. Survived by her husband, Raymond Fernandez, daughters Diana and Cristina, and sister Irene Lloyd, her legacy lives on. A private ceremony at St. John the Baptist will honor her life and the indelible impact she leaves behind.”

You will truly be missed Aunt Chris. I am grateful for all the memories we had especially from my childhood. Till this day I remember every one of those wonderful times we had as a family. I will remember those precious memories forever. May you be with God in Heaven.

- Joel Dina, New Fairfield , CT

Is hard to choose a specific memory because we have so many wonderful ones! We had so many wonderful Sundays and holidays at the house in New Jersey with all our children! Chris RIP we will always remember you!!

- Amelia & Joe Fernandez , Yonkers, NY

Chris and I only met one time at the doctors. We stayed in touch for eight years by phone. Chris was best of the best. She was pretty on the inside and out, and had such a sweet spirit. She loved the Lord and her family, you could tell by her actions. She was a special lady, I loved her. I send my love to Ray and the family. Chris will always have a place in my heart. She was the finest.

- Linda Avret , Sylvania, GA

To my Aunt Christine, you raised such beautiful daughters and loved so strong. We are in sorrow for your passing and feel so much grief for them. You were so beautiful and have been a true blessing on this earth. God is lucky to have you as his angel. Rest in Peace. Say hello to everyone there for us. We miss them. Until we meet again. Bless you.

- Melissa Lloyd, Belleview , FL

Thinking of you all and knowing there is a sadness during this supposedly happy holiday. Chris will be missed. This morning, Deacon Smith said her name as recently deceased during Mass and I know many present who were unaware of her passing. She was a quiet but vibrant candle in our parish. She was such a blessing to me and to others. God great you all peace in knowing Chris was loved and appreciated. Her candle still burns brightly in many hearts.

- Gretchen Reese, Savannah , GA

Diana, there are no words that I can say. I am totally speechless but I know she is shining down on you and the family. I send you my love and pray for you all!

- Rick Babyack , Pembroke Pines , FL

A candle has been lit!

You are in our thoughts and prayers.

- Dot and Read DeHaven, Savannah , GA

We are deeply sorry for your loss of an amazing mother and wife. We will always hold dear to the wonderful memories of her cute soft laughter and her contagious smile that made us and everyone around her happy to be in her presence. No doubt God made a special place for a beautiful angel that we will always cherish in our hearts. May she rest in heaven's glory
