I am so very sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one in death is very painful. I can't exactly understand how you feel, but our Heavenly Father does, and he will keep raising you up. May he sustain you at this time of such great sorrow. May the wonderful memories you have of Vy Truong bring you comfort during this difficult time and the words found at Isaiah 41:10,13 where God says he will help you and sustain you with his right hand of righteousness. Please go to jw.org to answer any questions regarding what happens when we die or any bible questions you may have.

I am so incredibly sad to hear about Vy’s passing! He was one of my favorite faces at the gym. He always had a smile and joke anytime we worked out together. I always made sure the water cooler was filled for him and it became an ongoing joke. I am certainly praying for Vy’s family and friends during this difficult time and those times yet to come.

Erica Scalmato, Savannah, GA

Vy Truong Mai March 6, 1980 – March 3, 2018

Vy Truong Mai was called back into the Lord’s heavenly service on March 3, 2018. He was born in Okinawa, Japan, to Thien Huu and Tung Thi Mai. In late 1980, he journeyed with his parents and eldest sister to America as a Vietnamese refugee seeking a new life of freedom and opportunity.

Vy believed in the four Fs: family, friends, fishing, and the Falcons. He was beyond generous in lending a helping hand, a kind word, or a goofy smile to his many family and friends. A dedicated Gulfstream Aerospace employee of 11 years, Vy was well respected as a Senior Coordinator and loved being a member of the Gulfstream family.

Vy is survived by his parents; his sisters, Vy Ty, Tovi, and Truc Vi Mai; his fiancé, Truc Linh Huynh; and countless relatives including his maternal grandmother, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, March 8 and Friday, March 9, 2018 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel. Prayer services will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday and 8:00 pm on Friday in the Islands Chapel.

The Funeral Service will be at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Interment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery.
