Henry, , GA

Our prayers and condolences goes out to you and family. As a West Point parent we know how proud you are and must be. Prayer lifted to a great soldier that just like our son had devoted her life to defend this extraordinary country. GOD Bless her and give you the strength until you meet again.

Avellaneda-Ruiz Family, Hialeah , Fl

To the Family of 1LT Hetland, It is with extreme sadness that I send you my deepest sympathy during your time of grief. I knew Stephanie during our service within 23d CBRNE BN in Korea together and she was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. My fondest memory with Stephanie was during one of many gatherings on Camp Stanley when we both smiled and remarked at our inabilities to dance. She could clearly see my lack of confidence, but she continued to dance and encouraged me to do such as well. I’ll never forget that memory and her kindness on being so willing to enjoy the moment with me while easing my insecurity. It’s very difficult to hear of her passing, and I can only hope my words can ease some of your pain.

1LT Brown, Roy, Columbia, MD

Sending prayers and I am so very sorry for this tragic loss. God be with your family. As a West Point mom please know all of us are praying for your family.

Lorri Swafford, Branford, FL

Our hearts go out to Stephanie's family and friends and especially to Joy and Mickey Michelis, who are much loved members of our church and community. They are also two of the most loving grandparents we have ever known. Our prayer is that their faith and the love and support of family and friends will help ease the pain of this tragedy.

Gerry and June Forehand, Sylvania, GA

I was very sad when I heard of this tragic event. 1LT Hetland was such a fun loving person. She would always greet you with a big smile and always asked about your day. I never knew this young lady but talked to her numerous times on ph. She wanted to purchase a puppy from me. She seemed very loving and kind. We talked about her new home in ElPaso and how she wanted the perfect place for her puppy. I was so saddened to hear of her death. May she be in peace in heaven. I pray the family can be comforted by remembering her great life

I am truly sorry for your loss. Stephanie was bright, positive, and a memorable member of our team when we served together in Fort Riley and Korea. It's with a heavy heart, when I say that she will truly be missed. No words can console these wounds we suffer, but as we look back upon her life and the experiences we all shared, we will continue to celebrate her life as we live ours.

Donald Verpoorten, Garmisch, Germany

I am so sorry for your loss. Having lost two children myself I know that words can not explain the loss and devastation you feel. I pray that God holds your entire family close as you go through this time of grief. Donald Parker

Donald Parker, Jacksonville, Fl

I wanted to send my condolences to the family at this most difficult time. We lost our son, David, at a young age due to a car accident. We were comforted by the words of Jesus when discussing the situation with His friend Lazarus regarding his death that death is likened to sleeping, John 11:11-14. Anybody who is sleeping is not suffering and can be easily awakened. Mankind has a wonderful hope in what God's Kingdom or Government will do too eliminate all causes of suffering and even death, Rev. 21:3,4. Jesus mentioned that all those in the memorial tombs will be resurrected back to a beautiful paradise earth were no more pain and suffering will exist, John 5:28,29. Please visit website, JW.Org for answers to question we have about this life. My thoughts and prayers are with the family
