I am sorry for your loss death is never an easy thing to bear when u lose someone you love but u know our God Jehovah has promised mankind a resurrection so we can see our love ones again in the resurrection he holds out for mankind, my condolences to the family please read John 5:28,29 this scripture will give the family hope and strength, again I am sorry for your loss. Edgefield, SC – Thomas (Tom) Branch Worsham, Jr., 85, passed away July 13th, 2018 at National Healthcare Center of North Augusta, SC surrounded by family.

Tom was born April 18th, 1933 in Suffolk, VA to the late Thomas B. Worsham, Sr. and Margaret A. Worsham. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond, VA and later from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, where he earned a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. During the time Tom was in college, he was drafted by the US Army and served in Korea for a short duration as a cryptographic specialist.

After returning from Korea and graduating from college, Tom worked for American Cyanamid Inc. where he was employed as Manager of Manufacturing and was later promoted to Plant Manager in Savannah, GA. In 1985, American Cyanamid was acquired by a Finnish company named Kemira Oyj. Tom was then promoted to President and CEO of Kemira USA, Inc. where he kept this title until his retirement in 1992.

In addition to his professional career, Tom was a past member of Fleetwood-Harmony Masonic Lodge in Lovingston, VA, Rotary International Club of Savannah and Isle of Hope United Methodist Church in Savannah, GA. Apart from managing the company, Tom loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed bird hunting, golfing, boating and driving his tractor. In 2006, he and his wife moved to Edgefield, South Carolina to enjoy the quiet, country life. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Jane Worsham; daughter Margaret Holman (Bill) of Knoxville, TN; sons, James A. Gunby, III (Susan) of Savannah, GA, Michael A. Worsham (Crystal) of Jacksonville, FL; grand-daughters, Kristen Russom, Lauren Holman and Kathryn Worsham. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son, Thomas B. Worsham, III and grandson, David James Worsham.

A Memorial Service will be held on August 11th, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Isle of Hope United Methodist Church in Savannah, GA.
