Was shocked & saddened to learn of sweet Susan's passing. She was a beautiful person. I last saw her many years ago with her Momma, Rose in Atlanta when we shared old Savannah neighborhood stories of growing up across the street from each other. We laughed & laughed at the shenanigans we thought were oblivious to our parents, but Rose assured us this was not the case. I cherish those times fondly & with a sad heart would like to say I am sorry for her loss. I hold her sisters and her daughters in my thoughts and prayers!! I am privileged to have had Susan in my life. She's with TL and Rose now and they are glorified to sit with her at Jesus' feet with no pain or sorrow. Love, love, love the sweet Davis family!! Peace to each of you.

On behalf of the Gray Family, I'd like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Susan Grandy. Though my brother and I did not have the honor of knowing Susan personally, our father did, and only spoke of her fondly describing her as a very kind, beautiful and intelligent woman. From reading her obituary she was truly an amazing woman that anyone would benefit from knowing. Our family too is trying to deal with the loss of Susan as well. After losing our own mother from lung cancer, my brother and I know that there is no greater pain than that of losing a mother. To Susans daughters Alexandra and Alannah, please know that we are so very sorry for the loss of your mother and the pain you are feeling. You have been in our minds and in our hearts since we first learned of your mothers passing. On behalf of our family, Ted Gray Sr., Ted Gray Jr. and Shane Gray, may God bring your family together at this time of sorrow and fill your hearts and souls with love and fond memories of Susan and how she touched your lives as well as the lives of so many others. Your family is heavy in our hearts. God Bless.

Ted Gray Jr, Richmond Hill , Ga

Dear Alexandria & Alannah, Jan, Nancy, and Terri-Linda, the pain of your loss reflects on how deeply you loved, your mother, your sister, and God does know the depth of your love and only he can and will bring the comfort your heart needs. Alexandra and Alannah my heart is broken over the loss of your sweet Mother, my beloved Sister. The thought of never again seeing her or hearing her voice is unbearable for me. Please know that I am now and will always be here for you. God bless you and give you peace. Love, Aunt Jan and Allene

Nancy. So very sorry for your loss. Love and hugs my dear

Brenda Harn, Orange city, Fl

Darlings Alexandra and Alannah, May I express my deepest sympathy for your loss. One bright star has left this earth. Her light shown bright and graced each day with splendor. There is no one on this earth like your mother. I know that as I sit here and cry, thinking of never being able to enjoy her company, hear her voice or laugh with her; that as her daughters, you must be beside yourselves in a much deeper sadness from losing your mother at such young ages. Please know that I will always be here for you. She asked me to always try to make you feel special and loved and to remind you of how much she loved you to the depth of her soul and before all other things on earth. That is all she wanted. She wanted to always have you around and to always be with you, but she had to go to be with mother and daddy and our Lord in heaven. Please accept my deepest condolences. You are both special and loved. Very loved. My all, Aunt Nancy

Nancy Brian, Savannah, GA

Susan Dyan Grandy

Born 11-21-1952, San Antonio, TX; Died 2-28-2017, Savannah, GA

Our dear sister and mother Susan, passed into God’s arms Tuesday evening peacefully. Susan was born to Thomas Davis & Rose Davis (deceased) while stationed in San Antonio. She lived a Christian life as a deep believer in God’s grace. Baptized at 9, active at Bull Street Baptist Church through her youth, taught Bible School with a deep love for children. Since 1999, she attended St John’s Episcopal Church and took Bible courses. She knew the Bible forward/backward, loved travel, led an exciting life including 4 years in Japan and planned a trip to Portugal for May. Over the years, she owned businesses in dental, food, and various arts. She was expert in sewing, haute cuisine and decorative arts. She was the vivacious beautiful blond Homecoming Queen participant, member of Delta Tau and an HV Jenkins 1971 graduate. Susan was known for her inner beauty, glamour, joyous manner, entertainment skills, extraordinary love for her 2 daughters who she was blessed with after years of prayer.  Philanthropic activities included the Symphony Guild, Rape Crisis Center and 2nd Harvest Food Bank.

She is survived by her daughters Alexandra Rose Grandy, Alannah Rachel Grandy who share a unique caring bond; sisters Jan Mock, Nancy Brian, Terri Davison; aunts, nephews “her buddies”, nieces who loved her deeply and cousins galore. As a mom and sister, Susan was an inspiration to us. We miss her greatly and would trade anything to have her here, but accept that she is with her parents and God, and far from the pains of life.

Visitation with family will be in the Chapel located at the north arched entry of St. John’s Church, One West Macon St. from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 6 with the memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Remembrances: Rape Crisis Center, P.O. Box 8492, Savannah, GA 31412.
