I send condolences and prayers for your family. One of God's greatest blessings to live such a long life. To celebrate the milestones of every grandchild, and great grandchild I'm sure was joyful for Mrs Shoemaker. Eternal rest, grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

I'm sorry for your loss. The scripture at Revelation 21:4 gives hope. There, Jehovah God, promises to do away with sickness and death very soon. This scripture has helped me in the past when dealing with loss. I hope it helps you too. For more information, please visit jw.org.

To my cousins and associated family, I wish to convey my sincere sympathy for your loss. It's no doubt, Aunt Stella had a lively spirit. She was blessed with long life and loving family. May she rest in the peace of our Lord, and the family find consolation in knowing that her toil and troubles are no more.

 Stella Cronk Shoemaker, Dec. 18, 1919 – Dec. 17, 2017

Stella Cronk Shoemaker, 98, died peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 17, at Station Exchange Senior Care, Richmond Hill, GA.

Stella’s children will remember with loving gratitude their mother’s remarkable sense of humor; her early morning practice of saying the rosary and praying for everyone she knew; her resilient spirit when facing challenges; her absolute delight in small children; her unconditional kindness toward all people; her constant willingness to lend her hand to anyone in need; and her abiding love for her childhood home on Isle of Hope.

She was the daughter of Clarence and Stella Cronk of Savannah. Stella graduated from St. Vincent’s Academy, was married to Louis C. Shoemaker (deceased) for over 50 years and raised 7 children. She was a communicant at Nativity of Our Lord Church in Thunderbolt, GA.

Surviving are a sister, Josephine Davies of Atlanta; 3 sons: Richard (Carol) of Athens, GA; Carl (Victoria) of Savannah; and Gary (Joyce) of Ocala, FL; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her 4 other children who preceded her in death are Joan Aliffi, Michael, Bobby, and Ann.

The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the friendship and outstanding care that Stella received in the 3 years she resided at Station Exchange Senior Care in Richmond Hill, as well as the fine care that she received from Pruitt Hospice, Savannah, in the last few months of her life.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 10:00 a.m., at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Savannah.

The family suggests any remembrances be made in her memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (mda.org) or to the Alzheimer’s Association, (alz.org).
