Paul Christopher Hernandez, Jr., 86, died peacefully in his sleep at Spanish Oaks Retreat on May 11, 2018 from Alzheimer's disease. He was born April 25, 1932 in Savannah, GA to Paul C. Hernandez, Sr. and Edith Conners. Paul was reared in the Catholic faith and graduated from Benedictine Military School in 1950. He joined the Marines shortly thereafter and fought in the Korean War. After the war, he went to college at Southern Technical Institute in Atlanta, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He went to work for Lockheed Martin in Marietta, GA and retired from there in 1990.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marie Katherine (Kitty) and their son Chris (Lisa), daughter Laura, and their children Robbie, Meghan (Tyler) and great-granddaughter Hayden, Rachel and Zach.

Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 1 p.m. on Monday, May 14 at Fox & Weeks, Islands Chapel, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Greenwich Cemetery. Remembrances may be made in his memory to St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church at 7020 Concord Road, Savannah, GA 31410.
