Jennifer and family, I am so very sorry to hear about Mary passing away. All the years that I knew her, which was all my life, she was the kindest and sweetest lady, that truly loved her family. Mary was my 1st cousin. Please take comfort that God has welcomed her with open arms and she is content my Graham and children.

Mary Mixon Bailey, 87., passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018.

Mary was born in Barnwell, S.C December 19, 1930, she graduated from Barnwell High School in 1947, then attended Armstrong State College and the Medical College of Charleston with a Bachelor Degree in Nursing. She was a Critical Care nurse at Memorial Hospital in Savannah for almost 30 years, where she mainly worked CCU, ICU, and CVICU. In 1948 she married Lewis Graham Bailey Jr., at the time of his death they had been together 62 years. Together they traveled the world. Mary was a former member of The Chatham Club, The Plimsoll Club, The First City Club, The Savannah Inn & Country Club, The Savannah Garden Club, and the Savannah Yacht Club. She was a longtime member of the Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents Col. and Mrs. Michael William Smith of Barnwell, S.C.; husband Lewis Graham Bailey Jr.; daughter Cheryl Anne Bailey Oliver; son Lewis Graham Bailey II; and son Michael William Bailey.

She is survived by her grandchildren Jennifer Dubois Adams (Richard); Herbert Ashley DuBois Jr. (Ashley); Michael Alexander Bailey; Davis Christopher Armand Bailey; son-in-law David W. Oliver, daughter-in-law Suzy Bailey, Great-Grandchildren, Lauren Anne DuBois, Olivia Mary Anne Delatorre, Carson Lewis DuBois and Rosalee Dean DuBois.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Wilmington Island Presbyterian

Church, 450 N. Cromwell Rd. Savannah, GA 31410.
