I'm sorry for your loss. Death is very painful to all of us. However we find comfort in Gods Word The Bible. I enjoy Isaiah 25:8 where Jehovah promises to do away with death. This scripture has brought many comfort. I hope it has brought you comfort as well

Lloyd Christopher (Chris) Kettles, 72, passed away June 7 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL

Son of the late Lloyd Elmer (Ike) and Ruth Pettit Kettles, he was born July 17, 1945 in Dalton, GA and lived in Savannah most of his life before moving to Ormond Beach, Florida.

He graduated from Jenkins High School (1963), attended Georgia Tech, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega and graduated from Georgia State University with a Masters Degree in Accounting and was a licensed CPA. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was proud of his service to his country.

He worked as a Chief Financial Officer for Uniflex Corporation before establishing a practice as a CPA.  He was the owner of August Group, Inc., a property management company.  He was a member of Skidaway Island United Methodist Church; Board Member of the 1/75 Ranger Regiment Memorial; American Institute of CPAs;  Georgia Society of CPAs; Savannah Quarterback Club; Rotary Club of Skidaway Island; Landings Club, Oglethorpe Club, Southeastern Affordable Housing Association; National Affordable Housing Management Association. He was an avid golfer, who enjoyed traveling throughout the US and abroad with his golfing buddies.

Survivors include: his wife Sharan Sheppard Kettles of Ormand Beach, FL; his daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Bryan Brooks of Atlanta, GA; his daughter and son-in-law, Catherine (Catey) and Brian Simmons of Americus, GA; grandsons John Banks Simmons and Turner Lee Simmons; and his cousin and lifelong friend, Karen Jaquith of Dalton, GA.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday June 12 at Skidaway Island United Methodist Church and will be officiated by Rev. Hale Bishop.
