LEROY GEORGE CROSBY (68) passed away peacefully at his home on March 13, 2018.

He was born on April 14, 1949 in Canon City, Colorado and considered himself a Savannah native after residing on Wilmington Island for nearly 35 years with the love of his life and wife of 42 years Ann Stone Crosby.

Surviving along with his wife Ann include son William Jameson Crosby and wife Hillary of Greenville, South Carolina; and daughter Katherine "Kate" Crosby Morrow and husband Christopher "Cam" and twin infant grandchildren Lillian Katherine "Lilly" and John Christopher "Jack" Morrow from Columbia, South Carolina. Also surviving are multiple extended family members of Canon City, Colorado; Orange Park, Florida; and the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.

Leroy was a graduate of Colorado State University where he obtained a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering. He has a long and successful career and retired after 30 years of service with the US Corp of Army Engineers where he retired as a chief project manager. Leroy brought much success and historical achievements to the Corp with his extensive and brilliant knowledge in water and hydraulic engineering.

His family absolutely adored him because Leroy was the epitome of what it meant to be kind. It was often said that everyone loved Leroy and it was a rarity to find someone who did not instantly love his generous spirit, kind attitude, giving heart, humorous and wise beyond his years personality. He is a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church where he attended regularly and also a previous member of the Knights of Columbus. Besides his family, there was nothing Leroy was more proud of than his Irish heritage and Catholic faith. We are at peace with the timing of his passage as St. Patrick's Day was truly Leroy's favorite time of year. The green fountains, full blooms of azaleas and the season of Spring on the horizon made him happiest.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 19 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Wilmington Island at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends directly following Mass at their home.

On September 14, 2017 Leroy became a grandfather to twin micro preemie grandchildren who were born early at 28 weeks gestation. He loved them dearly and believed wholeheartedly that they were miracles. Remembrances may be made through donations to the March of Dimes in honor of his grandchildren Jack and Lilly Morrow.
