Katherine D. Lovering, 59 years of age, passed January 14, 2019.

Kate was born October 6, 1959 at Fort Devens in Massachusetts and lived in Guyton, GA for the last 5 years. In Kate’s lifetime she was an exceptional educator in several locations, mostly in New England. Kate graduated from South Burlington High in Burlington, Vermont in 1978. She attended both the University of Wyoming and Leslie College and was honored with her Bachelors degree in Special Education. Kate then returned to school and earned her Masters of Education degree from New England College.

Kate spent the last four years teaching special education at Alfred E. Beach High School in Savannah, GA. Kate also spent 2 years prior teaching at Effingham High School in Springfield, GA. Kate spent over twenty three years passionately teaching special education to all ages. She was best known as Ms. Lovering walking the halls with a smile on her face every day. She touched so many children and peers’ lives over the years as a dedicated educator. She was one who wanted to lift people up and encourage the best in everyone surrounding her.

Family was the most important thing in Kate’s life. Kate is preceded in death by her mother Katherine R. Dolson, and brother Charles Dolson. Surviving are her husband, David Lovering, of Guyton, GA; her daughter Jessica Pimentel, son-in-law Matthew Pimentel, and grandson William Pimentel, of Port Wentworth, GA; Brother Michael Dolson, of New Smyrna Beach, FL.; and many family members spread across the country. Kate will be missed and loved by all her friends and family.

The family has designated that memorial contributions be sent to the National Kidney Foundation, a cause that was dear to Kate. You can follow this link https://team.kidney.org/campaign/Rememberance-of-Katherine-D-Lovering
