I'm so sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in the scripture found at John 5:28,29. There Jehovah has made a promise that will soon be a reality. I hope this helps. For more information, please visit jw.org.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one in death is very painful. I can't exactly understand how you feel, but our Heavenly Father Jehovah does and he will give you the strength to endure. May the wonderful memories you have of Jerdon bring you comfort and the words found at Isaiah 41:13 where God says he is grasping your right hand, the one saying do not be afraid I will help you during this difficult time.

S. Love, , Ga

I just found out and I wanted to let you all know how sorry I am and that I have you all in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time. I think of you all so often. Love and hugs!

Susan Brown Barfield, Savannah, GA

I am so sad to hear about Mr. Brown’s passing. I have fond memories from my teen years hanging out with Becki at the Brown’s home. Mr. & Mrs. Brown always welcomed me and made me feel apart of their family. May God hold you all tightly in His grip and surround you with His love as you face these coming days. Love, Susan (Bookhoop) Burch

Jerdon Oliver (J.O.) Brown died peacefully at his home on January 17, 2018 surrounded by his wife and children.  He was 92 years old.

Originally from Soperton, GA his family moved when he was young to Savannah, GA and he remained there for the rest of his life.  That isn't to say he didn't see the world.  When the United States entered World War II he enlisted in the Merchant Marines, serving from 1942-1946.  During this time he visited numerous foreign places and most of Europe.  When he returned home he went to work for International Paper, retiring in 1985 after 45 years with the company.  When he retired he was the General Foreman of the Power House.

J.O. was a very smart, outgoing, athletic, and friendly person.  He was an alum of Savannah High School.  He belonged to the American Legion Post 184.  He was a member of the Mary Calder Golf Club where he would go on to win several tournaments throughout the years.  Even making numerous 'holes in one'.  He was also the City Champion in bowling for three years.  He loved fishing and he loved his family.  He could repair anything.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia (Jenny) Brown of Savanah; daughter, Sondra Rawlins (Charles) of Summerville, SC, son, Ronald Brown (Terry) of Pelion, SC, daughter, Becki Cannon (Steve) of Savannah; 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 pm. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
