JAMES ALSTON GARDNER of Savannah, GA passed away on Thursday, November 11th, 2018. Jim was born in Stockbridge, GA on August 12, 1929. He lived in New Orleans, LA for 47 years before moving to Savannah in 2006. He is preceded in death by his parents Wilburn and Ruby Gardner, brother Wilburn "Rip" Gardner, sister Dorothy Pullin. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Sheila, sister Evelyn Norman and children James Jr. (Rosa), John, Paul (Susan), Erin Gill (Rob), Chris and Glenn (Kim). He is survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Jim was a graduate of Georgia Tech and had a distinguished 50 year career as a Marine Insurance executive and a former Chairman of the Board of Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 13th, 2:00pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Home, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Dr., Savannah, GA.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Meals on Wheels Program Senior Citizens, Inc. 3025 Bull St, Savannah, GA 31405.
