To Nancy, Linda & Mike, Brenda, Amie, Chase...I have enjoyed time with you, your family and your Mom & Grandmother. In that time I got to know how much she was a part of your lives and how you will miss her. She will always be there as some part of who you are today and the guidance she provided for so many years will continue to bless you as will the many prayers she spoke for her beloved family. My deepest sympathies are with you today.

Gwin Laura Anderson Heidt, 83, of Savannah, went to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior on November 9, 2017 with her family by her side. She had spent her last wonderful years as an independent resident of Savannah Commons. She loved it there, where she met and adored many wonderful and loving friends.

She was born in Glennville on October 24, 1934 to Lloyd and Geneva Anderson, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her beloved husband, Burnette E. Heidt, a brother, Samuel Anderson, three sisters, Mary Ward, Geneva Sikes and Ann Anderson; a loving son-in-law, Krist Petrich.

She was a very loving and caring stay at home homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and Mema.

She was a genuinely sweet, loving, caring and Christian lady. She was a true reflection of what a Christian should be. She was loved and adored by everyone who knew her. She loved the Lord and her children more than life She was a near 50-year member of Burkhalter Baptist Church-Crossroads Baptist. She was a member of the Senior Christian Sunday School class and participated in their luncheon most every Wednesday, volunteered during Vacation Bible school, sang in the choir and volunteered at most any event. She was a 5-mile Power Walker for many years with her best friend, Ruth Turner (deceased). She loved tennis, golf, the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons.

Left to cherish her precious memory are three daughters: Linda Carroll (Michael), Brenda Hughes (Gene) and Nancy Heidt (Petrich-Blackburn), one loving step-son Pastor Vernon Edenfield (Susan). Three grandchildren, Angela Taylor (Brian), Amy Suzanne Hughes Cosby and Gene Hughes III. One great grandson that she adored, Chase Amberson; many nieces and nephews. A couple who were as close as her children, Willian and Glenda Brogdon Williamson. Many thanks to all of her loving caregivers, Doris Collier and Mary Daise, and many more who loved and cared for her over the years. Special thanks from our hearts to a wonderful and loving friend, Robin Robitzsch. Thank you for staying endless hours and nights with our family and loving my mother through the most difficult time of our lives. We could not have done it without you. My mother loved you beyond.

Many thanks to Pruitt Hospice for always being there. There are not enough words to describe Jessica Wolfe and the love and devotion to help us through such a difficult time. Many, Many heartfelt thanks for Mary Robinson's Angels on five North at Saint Joseph's Hospital. Everyone there was as kind and loving to our mother as anyone could ever ask for in this life.

Pallbearers include, nephews: Ronald Sikes, Billy Cooler, Norman Brasiel, Kenny Sikes, Kenny Downs and Will Williamson.

Visitation will be Wednesday November 15th from 6-8 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The funeral will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, November 16th at the Hodgson Chapel of Fox Weeks officiated by Pastor Charles Cooper and Pastor Vernon Edenfield. Burial will follow in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
