Gerald E. Hagan, 75, died Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Candler Hospital.  He was born in Savannah, son of Milton E. and Helen Jackson Hagan.  Mr. Hagan was a 1960 graduate of Benedictine Military School and received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a Master’s degree from LSU.  His entire career was with the juvenile justice system to include the Chatham County Juvenile Court System and the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice retiring after 25 years of service.  Mr. Hagan was a member of Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church and in his retirement, was a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and an Olympic Power Lifter.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Anne Desso Hagan; sons, Christopher Hagan, Matt Hagan (Jodi), Kevin Hagan (Kelly) all of Savannah; siblings, Camille Owens, Richard Hagan (Susan), Marcia Hagan, Earl Hagan (Beth), Ross Hagan, Jeff Hagan, Mary Ellen Sullivan (John); grandchildren, Stokes, Lucy, Gabe, Hayden, Will and Helen.

A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

The memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church.

Interment will follow in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
