My sincere condolences to the family,never easy losing a a loved one in death. May you find comfort from the scripture at 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 26, there it talks about what will soon happen to death.

I'm sorry for your loss. Death is very painful to all of us. However we find comfort in Gods Word The Bible. I enjoy Isaiah 25:8 where Jehovah promises to do away with death. This scripture has brought many comfort. I hope it has brought you comfort as well

Elsie (Ellie) Brickner, 93, passed on to eternal life on June 7, 2018. She was born February 28, 1925 in Greensburg, Pa. to John Stavres and Mary Breeze Devey. She graduated from Indiana Hospital School of Nursing in 1948

Ellie met Eugene G. Brickner, the love of her life, in St. Augustine, FL. They moved to Savannah in 1959. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a compassionate grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Ellie was a member of St. James Catholic Parish and active in school and church functions. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting and baking. She worked for many years at the American Red Cross and Memorial Hospital.

Ellie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Eugene G. Brickner, her son, Michael Brickner, and her sister, Ruth Weyandt. She is survived by her four children: Sue Cannady (David), Debra Cymbaluk (Mike), David Brickner (Juno), and LaDonna Brickner. She leaves behind seven grandchildren: Jason, Leslie, Danielle, David Jr, Adam, Allie, and Melody. Ellie also has four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Thank you to the exceptional staff at Habersham House and Compassion Hospice for their loving care and friendship.

Funeral services will be at St. James Catholic Church on Wednesday June 13, 2018 at 11:00 am. A brief reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Savannah. 1352 Eisenhower Drive, Savannah, 31406.
