Ellen Snedeker (Martin, Shrubb) 86, real estate broker, paralegal, mother of six, died January 21, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, GA.

Born November 17, 1932, to Angela and Edward Shrubb in Cony Island NY. In childhood she lived in Brooklyn, NY and Rockville Center, NY. Ellen married Bradford Martin and raised 6 children, residing in Oceanside, Massapequa Park, and Setauket NY. Ellen helped run the family business and was active in the League of Women Voters, The Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Stony Brook Yacht Club. She then married John C. Snedeker and moved to Savannah, GA. In Savannah Ellen obtained her real estate broker license and operated SDI Real Estate on Wilmington Island. She also earned a paralegal certificate and worked as an independent paralegal. Ellen and John were active in the Navy League where she served as a director. During the Gulf wars she led the Savannah volunteer efforts for the USO to provide support for our troops. She enjoyed singing in the St. Peter the Apostle Choir with her granddaughter Elissa.

Ellen mourned the losses of her siblings Patricia and William and her daughter, Diane. She is survived by her sister Theresa; her children Bradford, Christopher, Kathleen, Raymond, and Wayne; her grandchildren Brandon, Elissa, Emily, Eric, Jason, Lenwal, and Victoria; and great grandchildren Eva, Carter, Charlie, and Theodore; and her husband John’s sons Chris, Dwight, and Charles.

A Memorial Mass will be held on March 2, 2019 at 1:00 PM at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church at 2070 Concord Road, Savannah, GA 31410. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Coastal Mermaid & Pirate Club via GofundMe.com or checks made out to Coastal Mermaid & Pirate Club can be sent to Wayne Martin, 12 Vincent Road, Burlington, MA 01803.
