Dee Hillary Rose Jr. passed away April 23, 2017 in Savannah, GA due to complications from a stroke.  He was 87.  Born in Wink, TX to Dee Hillary Rose Sr. and Annie Lou Bass he lived in West Texas until moving with his son to Savannah, GA in 2014.  He finished high school in Lamesa, TX and from there went to Texas Tech University earning a degree in Geology and then spent several years in the Navy during the Korean conflict.   He met and married Diane Epley in 1961 and settled in Midland, TX. Dee was an independent oil producer in the Permian Basin and retired in 1995 enjoying many happy, healthy years until his death.

Dee loved reading, gaming, entertaining with his guitar and singing. He was active in Theater Midland (Midland Community Theater). He loved and followed all classes and divisions of football.  He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Midland and also a member of MENSA.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother Martin Rose of Ruidoso, N.M.

He will be remembered by his three children, Robyn Rose Tatu of Atlanta, GA; Matthew Rose of Lubbock, TX; Dee Hillary III of Savannah, GA; and his extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

Services for Dee Jr. will be held in Ruidoso, N.M. in the coming months.

Memorial donations can be made to Hospice Savannah, Inc. in Savannah, GA. or the American Heart Association.
