My condolences to the family but our God Jehovah has promised mankind a resurrection, so we can see our love ones again , please read John 5:28,29 this scripture will give the family comfort, again I am sorry for your loss.

Cooper, Savannah , Ga

Courtney, I am so sorry. I met Charlie once right after ya'll were married and I thought he was such a nice addition to the Schley Clan. I know you must be in shock and so, so sad. Please know that I am thinking of you and your family and holding you in my heart. Your Cousin Lynne Elliott Jones

Lynne Elliott Jones, Atlanta, GA

Very sad and shocked to hear of Charlie's untimely passing. Charlie was the one who hired me out of college and I ended up working for and with him for almost 14 years. In that first year he was kind enough to take me out to his place in the country and was generous enough to pretty much let myself, and others, have the run of the place. He was that kind of guy. Generous, kind, patient and always ready to help. Thanks for everything, Charlie. Rest if peace. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

Eric D'Angelo, Rincon, GA

I was very surprised and saddened to hear about Charlie. I've always thought very highly of him. He always made time for you when you needed advice or information about something. He never turned you away. He helped me a hundred times more than I ever helped him. That is what I remember most about him.....he was always there for you. Just wanted you to know it was a privilege to have known him and work with him. God Bless.

Herb Mock, Guyton, GA

Charlie will be greatly missed - he was an excellent mentor who would go above and beyond to make sure we understood what he was explaining when he visited Great Dane Brazil. Charlie was one of those rare people doing the job he'd been created to do. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Art Wilson, Brazil, IN

Charlie was one of those Big Brothers when Debra and I each joined Great Dane over 35 years ago. I loved his terrific, quiet and very effective sense of humor. The times that Charlie's knowledge, wisdom and advice still keep many of us from going wrong can't be counted. We send our condolences to you and your family, Courtney.

David Stephens, Richmond Hill, GA

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I had the pleasure of working with Charlie for 31 years of his Great Dane career. He was always thoughtful and measured in his words. War Eagle, Charlie - and rest high.

Tim Pittman, Terre Haute, IN

My prayers are with the family. I learned a lot from Charlie when he would come to Great Dane Brazil. We also had a good time laughing and kidding around during his stay. He would always take time to explain things to me and even show me if he had to. I am going to miss him.

Steve Boston, Greencastle, IN

My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. Charlie was a huge help to me in my career with Great Dane. Always willing to help with the stupidest salesman question and giving me a simple and straight forward answer to pass to my customer. Charlie had a huge impact on me and our business. He will truly be missed but he has left his mark on the semi trailer industry. We lost one of the good ones and may his legacy live on for years to come. God Bless

Keith Fore, Troutman, NC

I was profoundly saddened to learn of Charlie's death. I worked with him for almost 30 years. I always appreciated his straight forward manner and ability to help someone such as myself understand complex concepts. Charlie will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

May God provide what the friends and family of Mr. Fetz need during this difficult time, and may they find comfort in the Bible's promises that soon, "all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out" (John 5:28, 29), and that "[God] will wipe out every tear from [our] eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." (Revelation 21:3, 4). In fact, God 'will swallow up death forever, and He will wipe away the tears from all faces...for He himself has spoken it.' (Isaiah 25:8) We can also rest assured that, "the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials" will help us endure until he brings about these promises. Charles Fetz passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, October 25th 2018. Charles, age 60, is survived by his wife Courtney of 37 years, his two sons Jonathan and Christopher, his brother Richard, and his mother Janet.

Charles achieved a Master of Engineering degree from the University of South Carolina and had a long career with Great Dane Trailers, spanning four decades. He worked tirelessly for those he loved, ultimately retiring in May 2016. Afterwards, he enjoyed traveling extensively with his family, experiencing the world and seeing new things.

A quiet and thoughtful man, Charlie was the unspoken foundation of his family and a steadfast support to those around him.  He was always prepared and ready for life’s challenges, someone you could come to for well-considered advice and guidance. He was knowledgeable, compassionate, and always there for those who needed him.

Principled and honest, we will remember Charlie as one who spoke plainly and always had our best interests at heart. He was our quiet friend, someone who never asked for anything in return and showed his love for us in countless ways. He has left an indelible mark on our lives and we will remember how deeply he cared for us.

There will be a visitation at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel on Thursday the 1st of November from 6-8 p.m. His celebration of life will be on Friday the 2nd at noon in the same location.
