Charles H. Meyer, Jr (Chic), 70, died unexpectedly December 8, 2017 at home.

He was born March 11, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio and grew up in in Jacksonville, Florida.

Chic is a graduate of Landon High School in Jacksonville, FL in 1965. He later attended Stetson University where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity earned an MBA in 1970. Chic served as a Captain in the US Army at Ft. Benning, GA.

He worked just shy of 40 years for SunTrust Bank, Georgia. Serving in Columbus and Carrollton, Georgia then to Knoxville, TN and in 2004 to Savannah, Georgia where he was Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer until his retirement in 2010.

He was active in many social organizations over the years. Most recently the Geechee Sailing Club where he had been Commodore in 2013 and the German Friendly Society where he served on the Board of Directors of the Gunst Foundation. He was also a member of the Savannah Yacht Club and the Savannah Golf Club. He and his wife Linda were members of the Isle of Hope Methodist Church

Chic is survived by his wife, Linda Pitt Meyer, of Savannah, GA; his daughter Robin and son-in-law Michael Houpe, and grandchildren Avigail and Aaron of Ogden, Utah; his son Charles H. Meyer, III (Chip) of Knoxville, TN; his sisters, Cheryl Ramsey (Mike) of Phenix City, Alabama and Pamela Andrews (Dan) of Jacksonville, Florida.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, December 11th at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406

The memorial service will be at 3pm at Isle of Hope United Methodist Church, 412 Parkersburg Road, Savannah, GA 31406 on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.

The family suggests any remembrances be made in his memory to Isle of Hope Methodist Church.
