My sincerest condolences go out to your family, it's never easy losing someone in death. May you take comfort in God's promise found at Revelation 21:4, which says "he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” This verse brought me peace when I experienced loss, I hope it can do the same for you. May the memories you have give you strength during this difficult time.

Caroline Oliveros Varges, widow of Walter F. Varges, died April 22, 2017 at Azalealand Nursing Home.  Mrs. Varges was the daughter of James Willard Oliveros and Carrie Cler Vogel Oliveros.  She was born and reared in Savannah.

Mrs. Varges was an avid reader and lifelong patron of the Live Oak Public Libraries.  She remembered proudly learning to write her name, well before she started school, so that she could have her own library card.  Mrs. Varges was raised in the Methodist Church, but became a member of the Catholic Church in her last years.

She s survived by her daughter Caroline Amanda McLaughlin Cannon, son-in-law, Thomas Arthur Cannon, son Robert Anthony McLaughlin, and daughter-in-law Frankie Hunter McLaughlin.  She leaves her five grandchildren:  Sarah Cler Cannon Sink (David), Margaret Morrison Cannon Lilly (Jay), Caroline Lovett Cannon Archer (Reid), Robert Connor McLaughlin and James E. Floyd, III.  Mrs. Varges also leaves her great grandchildren, Cler and Henry Sink; John, Julia and Louisa Lilly; and Georgia and Mac Archer.  Also surviving is her cousin and dear friend, Cler Colson Cole and her husband Don.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 24, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.  Burial will be private.
