Dear Angie and Aunt Woody, wish to send my deepest condolences at the loss of Capt Royce.

Capt P.Michelle Gillikin , Tybee Island , Ga

We were so sorry to see the notice of Captain Roy's death. He was always so gracious and generous to the Sisters & other teachers at St. Vincent's. We used to have our after-school faculty party at the beach where we were treated to a Low Country Boil prepared by Sr. Gilmary. She was never denied by Capt.Roy when she went to find a good deal on shrimp! Terry and girls, know that we will always be grateful for his generosity and will keep each of you in our prayers in the days ahead.

Sisters of Mercy, Savannah, GA

We all love the captain. He was always willing to help anyone. He will be missed by my family and will be in our thoughts every time we go by the docks or the shop. Keep sailing Captian.

Jackie and Charlie Brown, Metter/Tybee,

Ms Terry and family: You have lost a great husband and father, and I have lost a very good friend. I met Capt Roy about 40 years ago, the family knows the story on how that happened, so I won't go into that, but ever since then he has been a very good friend to me and with great sadness I learned of his passing. I don't know of anyone who had a bad word to say about him, and he will be greatly missed. God Bless him and the family

Ted Workman, Savannah, Ga

It has been a privilege to be a long-time -- 34 years friend of Capt. Roy Woodard. Roy was a very special friend. We shared lots of laughs and good times over the years. He was a guest, and we enjoyed two Indy 500 events! My thoughts and prayers are with Roy's family. Roy, you will be missed!! All The Best. Jack and Dorothy Sutherland

Jack Sutherland, Sellersburg, Indiana

Capt. Royce was a very special man. My son met him about 8 years ago while we were making a purchase. My son asked him how he avoided sea turtles in his nets. From then on they talked and talked. Each visit to Tybee meant we had to visit Capt Royce. He seemed to love kids! He always took time and had the kindest words for our whole family. My husband and son went out on the boat with him and LOVED every minute of it. I never met Capt. Royce's family, but I'm sure they are very special also. We will greatly miss him. You all are in our thoughts! Sending hugs your way! Capt Royce will be greatly missed and always remembered!!!!
