So sorry to hear of the loss of Alice, she was a wonderful lady. I worked with her at Piggly Wiggly when I was a teenager. She took me under her wing and mothered me in a very sweet way. My condolences go out to all her family and friends and especially to Darlene who I knew growing up. I know that Alice will be missed by many. Rest in Peace Sweet Lady.

Miss Alice loved babies and children! She was a wonderful Mother in law who welcomed me into the family, loved my children and stayed friends with me all these years. I will miss her, but will be so happy knowing she is reunited with Lisa and will be watching the fireworks with Mr Rip this year. Enjoy your first Easter in heaven dear lady!! You are loved.

Alice L. Nessola, 77, died Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at her residence.

She was a life-long resident of Savannah and attended Chatham County Public Schools. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of The Islands and a member of The Ladies Friendship Sunday School Class. She worked for many years with the Piggly Wiggly on Wilmington Island. She was a former member of the Women's International Bowling Congress and The Savannah Shag Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard (RlP) Nessola, daughter, Lisa Anne Woods, parents, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Hopkins, Sr. and a brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Hopkins Jr.

Surviving are her children, Jerry E. Woods and his wife, Diane, of Savannah, Charles W. Nessola and his wife, Joy, of Savannah, Cheryl N. Buehrle and her husband Al of Oregon & Darlene N. Arterburn and her husband, David, of Austin, Texas and a sister, Anne H Snead, of Savannah. She had Seven Granddaughters and Nine Grandsons. She also had Two Great Granddaughters and Two Great Grandsons. She was also survived by many Nieces and Nephews. She was also survived by many, many Friends.

As per her wishes there will be no Services at all. She wants her grandchildren to know how much she loved them and they would always be in her heart.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2019 at First Baptist Church of the Islands on Wilmington Islands
